An Unbeaten Start and a Remarkable Career

Bred in France and bought for £400,000 at the Tattersalls Cheltenham February Sale, Envoi Allen won his first eleven races under rules, including back-to-back Grade 1 victories at the Cheltenham Festival – the 2019 Champion Bumper and the 2020 Ballymore Novices' Hurdle. Trained first by Gordon Elliott and later by Henry de Bromhead, and ridden for much of his career by Rachael Blackmore, he developed into one of the finest chasers in training, winning the Ladbrokes/BetVictor Champion Chase three times (2022, 2024 and 2025) and the 2023 Ryanair Chase at the Cheltenham Festival.

Owned throughout his career by Cheveley Park Stud, Envoi Allen earned over £1.1 million in prize money across a career that spanned more than a decade, and was due to retire after one final run in the 2026 Cheltenham Gold Cup. Racing fans everywhere paid tribute to a horse whose talent, resilience and longevity made him one of the sport's most respected competitors.
